Community art project: Meir Primary Care Centre

Brief

To support client’s community arts project, aimed at fostering a community  sense of pride and ownership of the new health centre particularly amongst younger people, during the timeframe between land acquisition and main construction.

Client: NHS Stoke on Trent

Challenge

Publicise the community arts project and positive health scheme messages through local media coverage.

Solution

Worked closely with the client to deliver positive primary care centre messages to the community through the community arts project, inviting local media involvement and access to the story.

A local graffiti artist was involved to help engage with the younger members of the community and help them decorate the hoardings around the construction site during the two week project.

The hoardings were painted with potteries icons, including mascots of Stoke City and Port Vale football clubs.

The arts project was very well received by the community and achieved positive media coverage.
