“We are eager to display images and final plans for the new Primary Care Centre, and appreciate the public’s enthusiasm in sharing their views which has helped shape the development of their centre so far,” said Maureen Turfrey, Project Manager for NHS North Staffordshire.
Formal planning approval is anticipated in October, with building expected to start later this year. It is anticipated that the building will be completed early 2012.
The centre will serve more than 21,000 patients in a central location easily accessible by foot and public transport. It will include three GP practices, pharmacy, podiatry clinic, outpatient clinic, as well as multipurpose community facilities. It will also be a base for community matrons and nurses.
Biddulph Primary Care Centre is an initiative by NHS North Staffordshire being developed by Prima 200, the North Staffordshire Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) company.
